NaruHina: Ordinary High School? Ch. 10
*At Hinata's house*
Hinata's cell phone rang and she saw that it was Naruto calling her.
"Hey, Naruto," Hinata said into the receiver.
"Hi Hinata, so are you busy tonight?" Naruto asked.
"Nope, what do you have in mind?"
"Just be ready at 5:00, that's when I'll pick you up, okay?"
Hinata hung up the phone.
12:00 o'clock, she thought, just great. That means I have five hours…What am I going to do all day?
Hinata cleaned her room and still had 4 hours and 45 minutes until her date. She picked out an outfit, a purple dress that had spaghetti straps and was knee-length and had a purple belt at the waste, and she still had 4 hours. Hinata took another shower and curled her hair, 3 hours. She put on her outfit, did her make-up and walked down stairs, and into the kitchen, only to be stopped by Neji.
"Woah, aren't you dolled up? Where are you going?" Neji asked.
Hinata rolled her eyes as she grabbed an apple off of the counter. She walked to the sink and washed her apple.
"Out, with Naruto. By the way, Neji-niisan, what are you doing here?"
"I thought I'd surprise you on your BIRTHDAY!" Neji said.
"Is it sad that I've forgotten today was my birthday?"
"Normally, I would say yes, but today I'll just hug you."
"Why, thank you my dear cousin who clearly just insulted me even though he said he wouldn't."
"Oh, come here."
Neji and Hinata hugged. A few seconds later, they pulled apart.
"So, when is Naruto picking you up?"
"Where's he taking you?"
"He didn't tell me."
"Who didn't tell you what, sweetheart?" Hikari asked Hinata.
"Oh, hi Mom. Naruto didn't tell me where he's taking me for our date at 5:00."
"Hinata, tonight's your birthday dinner." Hikari said.
Hinata face-palmed again.
"First I forget that it's my birthday and then I forget it's my birthday dinner…" Hinata mumbled.
"What do you mean you forgot it was your birthday?" Hikari asked.
Hinata face-palmed for the third time that day and Neji burst out laughing. Hinata glared at him and Neji stopped laughing.
"I forgot today was my birthday…"
"Well, Hinata, you can go ahead and have fun on your date tonight. We'll have your birthday dinner tomorrow. You can invite Naruto and Neji can invite his girlfriend."
Hikari laughed at the blushing cousins as she walked out of the kitchen.
"I should go tell Tenten about the change in plans then…. Good luck Hinata and have fun on your 16th birthday! Remember to use protection!" Neji teased.
Hinata blushed an even deeper red and squeaked. She began to throw oranges at Neji, hitting him every time until he finally slipped out the door. Hinata took a bite out of her apple and walked back upstairs. She put on heels and looked at the clock. 2 hours. For her birthday, it could NOT have been going any slower. She got a purse ready and, deciding there was nothing else to do, watched TV. Someone rang the doorbell downstairs. Hinata looked at the clock, 5:00. She grabbed her purse and ran (in heels) down stairs.
"I got it!" she yelled.
Hinata opened the door and saw Naruto dressed in an orange button-up shirt, a black tie, black slacks and orange and black vans. He was holding red roses, Hinata's favorite flower type. Naruto stared at Hinata until she grabbed the flowers, hugged his arm, and yelled a good-bye to her mother before Naruto snapped into reality.
"Sorry, was I staring a bit?" Naruto asked.
"Only a lot," Hinata teased.
Hinata kissed Naruto and walked to the passenger's side of his orange Mustang. Naruto
opened the door and let Hinata into the car before he closed the door behind her and got into the driver's side.
"So where are we going?" Hinata asked Naruto as she put on her seatbelt.
"That's still a surprise, Birthday Girl." Naruto said as he put the car in reverse.
Naruto turned on the car radio and The Good Life by Three Days Grace was playing. Hinata sang along. Naruto pulled into the parking lot of Outback Steakhouse.
"You like steak, right?" Naruto asked as he turned the car off.
"Yes, I love steak!" Hinata responded. (I'm sorry to all of my vegetarian readers, but I had to, and I admire that you guys are vegetarian because I wouldn't survive, back to the story.)
Naruto and Hinata walked into the restaurant.
"Table for two," Naruto said to the lady at the podium.
"Follow me to your table." The lady in her twenties said.
She put their menus down across from each other and smiled.
"Thank you for coming to Outback Steakhouse, your server will be with you shortly. Enjoy
And with that, she walked away and Naruto and Hinata sat down. Hinata kept pestering
Naruto to tell her about what else he had planned, but he wouldn't say. Suddenly, Ino walked up to their table and smiled with her eyes closed.
"Hello. My name is Ino and I'll be your waitress tonight. Can I start you off with something to drink?"
Ino opened her eyes and her smile grew larger. Hinata stood up and hugged her, Ino hugged her back.
"Happy birthday, Hinata! Now I know why Naruto was asking me where and when I worked!" Ino said.
Hinata turned to Naruto.
"You planned this, didn't you?" Hinata accused jokingly.
"Pretty much, yeah." Naruto joked.
Hinata bent down and kissed Naruto, she sat back down on the other side of the booth.
"Aw, you two are adorable! Anyway, Hina, what do you want to drink?" Ino asked.
"Dr. Pepper, please."
"Of, course, coming up. How about you, Naruto?"
"Iced tea, please."
"On its way."
Ino walked off, wishing Hinata a happy birthday again. Ino came back with their drinks and took their orders. She brought Hinata a complimentary birthday ice cream without the humiliation of having the whole Outback Steakhouse staff sing Happy Birthday. They left Ino a 45% tip and were soon back in Naruto's bright orange Mustang. Naruto was driving at a place in town Hinata was not familiar with.
"Hinata, what time did you promise your Mom you'd be home?" Naruto asked.
"Oh, according to her, I don't have a curfew on weekends now that I'm 16." Hinata
Naruto parked at the front of a very empty concert theatre. They got out of the car and
walked to the front door, but they were stopped by a big, burly body-guard. Naruto gave the man his tickets and back-stage passes. The man scanned them and then waved the two through.
"Naruto, I already know we're at a concert and that you have back-stage passes and front
row tickets, but who's playing?" Hinata asked.
"What do you think of Three Days Grace?"
"They're my favorite band in the world, why?"
"Because that's whose concert we're at."
Hinata hugged Naruto and kissed him. About two minutes later he pulled away from her.
"Are we gonna meet the band or are you gonna kiss me all night? Because I'm fine with either." Naruto said.
Hinata rolled her eyes and grabbed Naruto's hands.
"Lead the way to the band." She said.
"Damn, so close."
Anyway, they had a great time. The concert ended at 11:00.
"Wow, that was so fun." Hinata said. "You should probably take me home now."
Naruto placed his hand under Hinata's chin and kissed her. They pulled apart and he
looked at her seductively.
"What happened to not having a curfew on weekends?"
"I-I don't w-want m-my M-mom t-to worry about m-me so—"
Naruto cut off Hinata by kissing her again. He pulled away and took a lock of her hair in
his left hand and held it to his lips for a moment before releasing it. He caressed her face in his hands.
"Stay with me for a while longer Hinata…"
"W-well I guess I could stay for a while longer…"
They kissed again. They spent 2 hours making out in his car until Naruto thought it was safe to try taking it farther, only to get slapped extremely hard across the face. Hinata crossed her arms over her chest as she placed her seatbelt back on. She looked out the window and fumed.
"That's it! Take me home, NOW!"
"Everything you say now might make me want to break up with you!"
"So we're still together?"
"Well, duh! Tonight was great except for THAT you nasty pervert! Now take me home!"
Naruto did as he was told. As Hinata got out of the car Naruto stopped her.
"So, see you tomorrow?" He asked hopefully.
"Yes! Don't be late!"
Hinata walked into her house and into her room.
